Who we are

Bar Harbor Winery focuses on small batch craft wines, located just outside Bar Harbor, on Mount Desert Island, Maine. The winery was first established in the early 2000’s on what was a regenerative agricultural farm known as “Sweet Pea Farms”. The tasting room is an old 1860’s wooden barn, constructed via the traditional technique of joinery, rehabbed by the previous owners. Sweet Pea the cow, beloved pet of the farmer, once stood upon the planks of the barn floor and called it home.

Our focus as a winery is to our wines. Our winemakers motto is, “To Making Quality Accessible.” To do this they incorporate a hybridized approach to winemaking, combining millennia’s old traditional techniques, with cutting edge new technologies and methods. Being a micro-production, we are able to put a vast degree of focus and care into each unique batch.

All wines we offer are produced and bottled on premise. The winery offers a variety of award winning dry, semi-sweet, and sweet wines made from vinifera, hybrids, and fruits. Outside the tasting room you will find, a small vineyard, blueberry field, and heirloom apple orchard managed and maintained by owner and friends.
